Apply for a Fellowship

The Huntington Research Division administers one of the largest and most prestigious fellowship programs for the support of scholarship in the humanities in the United States. Every year approximately 150 fellowships are awarded to scholars from all over the world to conduct advanced humanities research using The Huntington’s collections.

The Fellowship Application period for the 2024-2025 fellowship year for Long-Term Fellowships, Short-Term Fellowships, and Travel Grants/Exchange Fellowships is now closed. Applicants, both successful and unsuccessful, will be notified in March 2024. The 2025-2026 fellowship application cycle will begin on August 30, 2024 and run until 11:59 PM PST on November 15, 2024.
